With a little consideration, your specimen can remain a treasured part of your collection for many years to come.
LIGHT & DISPLAY
Position your specimen away from direct sunlight and strong UV exposure. Prolonged exposure can cause natural pigments to fade, particularly in the delicate wings of butterflies and moths.
Choose a location with soft, indirect light to best appreciate its natural colours and details.
TEMPERATURE & HUMIDITY
Keep your framed specimen in a dry, stable indoor environment, away from excessive moisture, condensation and sudden temperature changes.
Avoid displaying specimens in bathrooms, damp rooms or directly above radiators. High humidity can encourage mould and may affect the condition of delicate natural materials.
HANDLING & CLEANING
Always handle your frame carefully, supporting it securely when moving or repositioning.
To clean, gently wipe the exterior with a clean, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid abrasive materials, excessive pressure and chemical cleaning products, which may damage the acrylic frame or glazing.
Never open or dismantle your framed specimen. The contents are delicate and have been carefully positioned for their long-term preservation.
NATURAL CHARACTERISTICS
Every specimen is unique. Subtle variations in colour, shape, markings and natural imperfections are part of its authenticity and individual character.
As genuine preserved natural materials, specimens may experience some gradual changes over time. Appropriate display conditions will help minimise these effects.
